The problem is most likely from high ammonia in the tank. Ammonia is produced by the fish and turtle's wastes (and I'm sure by now, you have an idea of how much wastes these guys can produce!). Ammonia is toxic to fish and causes a chemical "burn", which can appear as a black patch or streak. If you haven't done a water change recently, you should to do a partial change (25-35% of the tank volume) ASAP, and maybe another again tomorrow. If you have done a change, the black will still be present for 3-6 weeks before it fades.

Are you using gravel or rocks of any kind in the tank? This provides a place where bacteria that remove the ammonia in the water (by converting it into nitrite, then nitrate) can live. But you need to be careful not to use gravel that's a size that your turtles now, or in the future, would be able to swallow. It may also help you to pick up an aquarium test kit to monitor the buildup of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate in the tank so you'll have a good idea when the water needs to be changed. Once you've got a good population of bacteria established, you'll have less ammonia and nitrite to worry about in the tank. See the info on this (nitrogen cycle) and the links to info about the color change to black that's probably responsible for what you're seeing in your fish below:

Sometimes they just change color. Mine did that once. It was a beautiful mix of black and orange and then the black faded away. I found this below.

Black Spot- Usually these spots are seen as the fish is healing from ammonia surges. The area that was burned will turn black and this is the healing sign. The spots should fade within about 2 weeks. Orange Goldfish will sometimes turn black on their back and sides. After about 7 days the patches disappear and the fish appears orange. This is known as "Melanophore Migration" and is usually caused by any type of chemical irritant or traumatic injury. Some very common causes: high level of ammonia, low pH, flukes, or ick. The black color will not show up until the irritant is removed and the skin begins to heal. However if there are snails in the tank or the fish are living in ponds you should read below.

Goldfish often change colors depending on water temp. Although I would agree to take them somewhere that would be able to rule out disease (like a pet store). I got some feeder goldfish for my small outdoor pond a couple years ago (they're about 6-8" long now!) and almost all of them are a different color than they were when I bought them - and continue to change seasonally. Some turned completely black in the winter, then went back to orange when the water warmed up in the summer... others just got black fins or "calico" markings... some had their white turn into orange... One of my goldfish is completely white most of the year but turns more yellow with some orange when the water is cooler.

I'd bet it's your water temp... but like I said (and like another poster suggested), I'd take them to the store and get an educated opinion from someone who can actually see them.

I'm not sure what he has but he needs to be treated ASAP. My fish was on the verge of death like 3 months ago and I researched on the net. I found that salt water can actually help with certain conditions. I added table salt as I did not have aquarium salt, apparently there isn't enough iodine in it to hurt the fish, the next day I checked on him he perked up abit and was actually swimming and eating again. After a second dose he was really good. He is not in the same condition as he once was but he survived.

that's somewhat over stocking. in case you get a woman betta and 3 platys which would be a powerful setup. i know given that's my good setup and that all of them get alongside completely. The tiger barbs on the different hand are probably extra aggressive than the bettas. The 5 tetras in the tank without different fish might do great mutually. they are good schoolers. I stick by ability of the a million inch in step with gallon rule, you would be able to flow over by ability of 4 inches at maximum with good filtration and popular water differences yet different then that that's a powerful rule. Bettas do in contrast to residing in smaller areas like bowls yet they'd that's why human beings placed them in there. they are going to relish a much bigger area which includes a 10 or twenty gallon. wish this helped. :) have relaxing installation your new tank.

Immediately take out the two goldfish and put them in a cup or something. Take that cup to your local pet store and they'll tell you what to do.

It might be a disease called IC (spelling unsure)
If so put salt in your tank sea salt or go to the pet store they have other medicine for your fish.
It might be cheaper though to buy New Fish
