please help me come up with a lie to get my dog back?

i sold my dog yesterday and i did not realize that i would miss him as much as i do. what kind of lie should i come up with so that the lady will want o sell him back to me? or should i tell the truth?

Tell the truth. But there must have been a good reason for selling your dog in the first place...I hope
