I have heard both ways. Some men like it shaved some do not. Do what makes you comfortable. Any man worth being with will respect your choice.
If you do the advice not to go completely bare is good advice. The hair is a protection and some should remain.
It is also good advice that waxing minimizes the bumps. However, there are many humorous stories all over the place about this for the first time so be certain you know what you are doing or have a professional assist for the first time and watch how they do it.
Hope this helps. Have a good day.

I shave almost everyday and don't have a problem with ingrown hairs or bumps anymore. I did at first, but the more I shaved the less the bumps/ingrown hairs appeared and now they're nonexistent! While you're getting used to it, I suggest trying a sensitive shave cream such as "Aveeno"--it's a few dollars more than the regular cream but it works WONDERS! Also, a good razor is key (i.e "Venus"). Be sure to put on lots of cream after shaving (a non-scented, light cream is best).

There are several ways to remove unwanted hair but shaving works best for me. Use a very moisturizing soap and a good new razor. Use a moisturizer afterwards too. An antiseptic spray is helpful for minimizing itching and bumpiness. As far as men's preferences....like anything else, each has his own likes and dislikes, but it seems a lot of men do like the shaved effect.

i like everything shaved. i do too, and i like my girls that way. it's easier and cleaner and everything feels better.
when shaving, use a good clean razor. no cheapos. make sure what you are shaving has been trimmed to the shortest you can get them. wash the area well and rinse. lather up with some shaving cream or gel. don't use soap, it will dry your skin while shaving. shave first with the growth direction. rewash and rinse and shave again against the hair growth. everyday put lotion on the area to keep the skin soft. if you get razor bumps try using some bikini zone cream. it's kind of expensive, but it works wonders.

you can use aloe vera natural meaning picked out from the plant and rub it on that area also you can go to a beauty supply store and get something for when you wax and that also works

Use a sensitive shaving foam or a feminine soap and women's razors. Alternatlively, use a hair removal cream, you can get a sensitve one, or one for the bikini area.

you actually shouldn't shave all if it if you are going to. if it's just your bikini line that's okay but the hair is kinda like your nose hair it helps to keep your area clean. The hair catches the dust and w/e else from getting in.

In my experience with past boyfriends and hubby, men honestly don't care, but, they prefer you do NOT shave it. It looks too much like a child and no decent man want to "do" that.
The hair turns them on.
