Mr Clean magic erasers with a little water or windex will remove all grime and spots. Wipe dry with newspaper for a lint free finish.

Cleaned my house windows that way after the pollen and now my windows are so clear it looks like there is no glass in the frame.

If what you have is tough, Windex will help little. A razor scraper will help if is a solid. Ammonia and water is pretty good on grease. Just plain scrubbing with a non-abrasive pot scrubbing pad should get whats left.

50/50 mix of vinegar and water for hard water spots or experiment a little with the mix---vinegar is a weak acid and will usually remove the spots, then clean as usaul.
