Yes, or at least, they should have parenting choices which may not be abortion-related.

If the father wants the child and the mother does not, the mother should not be forced to carry and bear a child. No matter what, biologically, the father is but a participant; the mother is committed to turning over her body for 9 months, which is not a choice a man can make for her.

However, if the mother wants the child and the father does not, the father should be able to rescind his parental rights prior to the baby's birth (just as the mother had the choice to abort it) and be freed from fiscal and all other responsibility.

No matter how "politically correct" everyone tries to be, biologically and realistically, the woman is the one who gets pregnant, and is the one "taking the chance" if an unwanted pregnancy occurs, so she is ultimately responsible - but the father must be given the choice to participate or not once the fetus is conceived. There are too many cases of one-night-stands and short-term relationships resulting in ridiculous legal situations for men, in my opinion - and at times because women lied about birth control to begin with.

Yes. If the biological father is financially, emotionally, and physically stable, and can prove as such to a judge, the mother should be forced to have the child and give up all custody rights to the father. It would be like adoption, except it's the biological father receiving custody, and not some strangers.

if the women dont want the baby and the father is willing to take over the parental responsibilities then i think the father should have some say in then choice of having an abortion.....

To ignore the wishes of the biological father in abortion cases is very simply and obviously a SEXIST attitude that must be legally corrected.

I agree both with Ivan the young lady... but its messed up because a woman also has the choice to make our lives miserable, and if she knows there is a finanical gain... it can be sad. I think this is a hot debate, that will never be solved. I think there should be a process if a woman decides.. there should be some sort of sign for the man agreeing also... i know a guy who let his girl get an abortion and he paid for it... it was her idea, but she didnt get it done... didnt get the abortion, and had the baby... now she a screaming for child support and she will get it.. almost 30% of his earning....i love woman but I hate the fact that they can control that part of your life.... it takes two to make the baby so it shouldnt be up to the woman making the decision on her own.

Personally I think they should. If the lady who was recently in the news was not allowed to use eggs fertilised and frozen when she was with her husband because they were now split up then a woman should not be allowed to abort a foetus without the father having some say in it.[it amounts to the same thing]

if the baby was allowed to be born then that same father would be expected to pay for it in maintenance

If he's around. Most guys would be grateful she is getting an abortion, releasing him from responsibility. But since you both lie down and create that new life and youre both, by law, responsible for its care, then youre both entitled to decided whether that child lives or dies.
