I mean jesus, they cheer because Roger Clemens is coming back for 28 million dollars. He's going to give them 5 innings every start, if that. He's 45 years old, he's near a freaking old folks home.
When the Yankees are a .500 team and they finally realize that things aren't going to get better they will do what they always do when their teams lose. They will be fair weather and bandwagon and find another team to root for.
They are all garbage, and should be treated like garbage. They belong in a dump.

I wouldnt say they belong in a dump, but it seems the baseball world, according to ESPN, revolves around them and the Red Sox.
Why? because they have the most $$$.

Well right now my Yanks have three starters, not including Clemens or the injured players (namely Phillip Hughes), that have or ever will deserve the title starter. And considering that Clemens didn't have a bad start last year (2.30 era, 7-6 record due to a lack of run support which shouldn't be a problem for the Yankees) at 44 i think we have a reasont to be excited. Even if he will only give 5 innings of work they will be pretty much scoreless. And with a virtually unlimited budget his $28mil isn't too big of a deal. They dropped a few million on Kei Igawa who is back in the minors.

Yes, you're absolutely right, Yankee fans are so disgusting. They cheer for their team. They live and dead with every pitch. They love their players and want them to do well. They buy tickets to the home games and travel sometimes to watch them play in other ball parks. They wear their teams baseball caps and team shirts and basically just enjoy the game of baseball. After all, it is the greatest game ever invented.
I would imagine Yankee fans are just like............you and the team you root for. I guess that makes us both ignorant. Have a nice day.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but I'd be excited to have Clemens coming back. At age 44 last season, he had the best ERA in the major leagues. I know he only averaged 6 innings per start, but I'd take 6 innings of 2 or 3-run ball over what they're currently getting.
As for the money, I don't think that matters one bit to their fans. They have an owner who is willing to spend in order to win, and all of us should be so lucky to have leadership like that.
As for generalizing about them, their fans are no better or worse than anyone else. And if they have an arrogance about them, it might have something to do with 26 World Series titles.

one thing i noticed about the fans in Yankee stadium is that when the Yankees are losing by a considerable amount most fans up and leave instead of sitting through it and rooting for their team through the whole game. I know when i go to Fenway we stay through until the end. no matter what the score is . Don't get me wrong i respect the yankees,but i will root for my team whenever we play them,

I have been a Red Sox fan for 40 some years and it really irritates me when someone like you comes out of the woodwork to blemish the friendly rivalry that has been going on for years and years. You did a wonderful job of describing yourself here though.
