This question has been asked almost every day this week. Why don't people ever check the questions already posted?

Jack - they wed in 1947 and she was crowned in 1953. It made no difference. And kiwi, it bugs me, too. I always check this page hoping for a challenging, original question but more often get either of the two you mention.

It does tend to get repetitive as does the surname one and Willie should be the next King...blah, blah, blah....but not everyone knows how to use this site to the extent that others do...I sincerely doubt that the majority of users have even read the guidelines...proof of that is in the diminishing quality of questions and especially the answers. Also, a great deal of people using this site are not British and have absolutely no concept of British Culture or how the Monarchy works...

What is the Queens last name? Shares equal billing with the no king thing.

Maybe YA ought to automatically put those 2 questions at the top of every page in Royalty. Do ya think it would stop these questions? I say no, because people just dont read. Drives me nutz.

I don't know. I'm British and we've never ever had confusion with this. I think our last equal royal couple were William and Mary, but even then I'm not sure. People should just search for their question before they ask it, it would save so much time for them!

I agree. People should check what has already been asked before wasting time on the same old question over & over again.

Sure, why not? People who keep asking don't listen or care what the details are about Elizabeth and Philip and their titles.

Perhaps we can just combine them all in one question -

"OMG, Prince Philip is so cute, he should be king, so he could murder Diana and end the monarchy!"

This gets me to thinking: if Philip had married Elizabeth before she was crowned, would he be King now?

Just interested. If anyone has an answer, email me or something. Thanks!

Of course not. There will always be speculation and questions about the legendary Rory Emerald who pointedly does not use his title in public.

"Was Diana murdered?"
"Do we need a monarchy?"

It was a decision made by Queen Elizabeth when they were married. He's been p*ssed about it ever since. She could have made him King.

Queen Mary made her husband "King" William.
