i was always interested in the behind the scenes work with theater, movies, etc. So i came across this major. I was just wondering what kind of careers/jobs people got after majoring in this field. Are you consent with it? What do you work with? is it hard to get into?

i just need a little feedback is all, i'm about 90% sure i'm going to major in this, i just need more info so i can settle my decision.

Whether it will match your interests depends greatly on what level you think you will work at. For example a theater designer in the New York or London stage has almost nothing to do with the actual activity back stage since the design is done before hand in consultation with the director and produced in a professional shop away from the theater.
In a professional regional theater, a large community theater, or a university theater, the designer is also often the technical director and has responsibility for building the sets and personally does hands on and supervising and training of people (students) doing the work.
You should be able to visit theaters of various kinds and talk to the designers and technical directors and ask to watch them in action. When I did visits to theaters in the US 30 years ago while traveling, I got guided tours by tech types in most of the places.

you will in all hazard earn extra money beginning out in layout/tech than maximum people who substantial in theatre and pursue performing. From my college, the human beings who pursued the technical edge of theater look to have better success with employment than the rest human beings. supply it a shot. Technical theater skills can translate into an limitless style of different fields (action picture production, experience making plans, company events, concert events). The scene dressmaker has an limitless style of skills (portray, shape, carpentry, lighting fixtures layout, etc.) that is offered for any style of purposes. there's a level hand union, it is not ordinary to get into, besides the undeniable fact that it is going to pay extensive. extensive!!! and there's a union for action picture crews. evaluate it.
