In Ancient Egypt, How Did They Preserve the bodies to make a mummy? (I need pretty good details)?

This is for a Social Studies project that is worth alot of our grade for this 6 weeks.

Cut an opening in the left side of the abdomen, remove the organs (with the exception of the heart, as it's the center of a person's being and intelligence) and store them in canopic jars. Dry the inside and the outside of the body with natron. Break the bone behind the nose, and stir the brain into little pieces, and pull them out via the nose with a hook. Stuff the head with thick plant-based resin, or plant resin sawdust. Wash the natron off the body. Anoint the body with oils and perfumes. Fill sunken areas of the body out with linen and other materials, and add false eyes. Wrap the mummy in hundreds of yards of linen, place amulets among the wrappings, and write prayers and magical words on some of the linen strips. Done!

For a start they removed all of the internal organs and stored them in canopic jars, and basically pulled the brain out through the nose.
