Well Drury and Briere are both unrestricted free agents. Vanek is a restricted free agent. We will try and keep Vanek. They are probably going to try and keep one of the captian as well. I personally dont want either of them to go but i think if Briere or Drury had to go i would say that we need Drury. As for anyone else thats contracts are up. The following players are unrestricted free agents Mair, Conklin, Zubrus, Numminen
Also the following players are resticted free agents
Peters, Paetsch , Roy, Paille
I dont think that we will lose all these guys seeing how some of them are new

My guess is that the Sabres can only afford to keep Drury or Briere. Based on previous actions, they will try to keep Drury first. The Sabres signed him to his last contract before his current deal had expired, showing how much he was valued. The Sabres rarely have done that historically; most guys have walked away.
After that, we'll have to see what happens with the salary cap. I would think raises for the other players would eat up the $5 million for Briere's salary. They may have to make room for a guy like Stafford, so perhaps Afinogenov could go elsewhere in a trade if the numbers don't add up.

Well wecant have both Drury and Briere so I would have to keep Drury. Although Briere is awesome, Drury outperforms Briere . Maz will prob stay and I hope we set up a contract with Zubrus
Spacek could be leaving and with Vanek making a name for himself there is a big possibility of him leaving
Either way the sabres are really deep and whoever we lose we should be able to recover nicely

Briere, most likely. Drury is much more needed.
You idiots, Afinogenov's contract is not up at the end of the season, not for 2 more years. Vanek is a must keep. Those two will not be going anywhere.

Remember that they said the same thing with TB not being able to afford their "Big 3" after the cup win but they were able to (at the expense of other positions like Goalie being weak). That said, they probably will let Briere go but the Sabres are well prepared for this as they have some other guys who are able to fill the voids of their departures.

hard to say right now... but with all the damn salary caps, a team can't keep the same roster for more than a year! After they win the cup (which they will!) I think theier gonna have to choose between Briere and Drury, and they should keep Drury, but Briere's a huge asset to the the team too!!

Obviously Drury or Briere will have to go. Theres no way that Buffalo will be able to keep both. There were rumours that Biron (who is now in Philly) is trying to convince Briere to sign with Philly during the offseason so we'll see what happens.
