There are times when teachers are forced to move on when they do not want to. Quite often, they discover that they like their new life much better than the one they left. It's not a good idea to interfere with such things, because in most cases it is all for the best.

If you liked your guidance counselor that much, it would be a good idea to let her know what an impact she has had on you and what a great guidance counselor you think she is. Let her know that she made a difference. It will matter to her.

Unfortunately, there are issues of budget within the school system. Which doesn't seem right. If the teachers and staff are doing a great job and obviously are needed then why can't they come up with enough money to pay these people. If you are planning to attend the board meeting I would want to know the reasoning behind this if its the budget then ask them what they will do after she is gone, will they hire another. Ask if there are any means within the budget that can be dropped in order to keep these good employees.

Start a letter writing campaign to the local media. School districts are controlled/influence by public opinion a great deal. Contact the local professional educator's association (teachers union) and ask them what you can do

NO! It is not your place. It is the administration's job to make the budget work and do the hiring and firing.
