Although goldfish are prone to changing color, black really is not one of them. If they are shubs, I would say nothing to worry about however if the black was not on them to start with, it isn't normal especially if the stains are near the fin or face area. this could be a couple of things, what is your water quality? The ammonia specifically? Ammonia burns will change a goldfish in "spots" to black.
Also the start of fin rot or dropsy. Are any of your other fish experiencing the same? I would keep an eye on him, if you see these stains getting larger for no reason or any of the other fish begining to turn, I would take medication and water quality measures to ensure it doesn't spread.
If you need more help feel free to email me.

I do not know of any diseases with this symptom. I would guess that your goldfish is just changing color. They do this quite often. I have one that changes from brown to gold every other week. It just depends on how much light they are submitted to, the part of the tank they are in and thousands of other reasons. Unless you goldfish starts acting weird there should be no reason to worry.

Goldfish change colours all the time...usually from orange to black and back again. Some people even have black moors that eventually turn completely gold (into telescope goldfish) then back again.

It's probably nothing more than the fish going through a fairly normal and not unusual color change. If the fish is acting normally and eating normally I wouldn't worry at all.
Since there are very few diseases that would cause black spots and if it were ammonia problems all the fish would show the damage, I can't really see much at all to worry about.

It's very common for goldfish to change color.
If he is eating well, nothing to worry about.
