I was just in Greensburg about a month ago, I remember it for the beautiful old Victorian houses, and the nice people. Holly, Colorado, a little town about 30 miles from where I live, was also recently havily damaged by a tornado. The clerk at the convenience store in Greensburg asked where I was from, and we talked about the tragedy in Holly. How ironic that it should happen there only a few weeks later. Our prayers are with the people of Greensburg as they pick up the pieces and begin to rebuild their lives.

I have been thru Greensburg hundreds of times. It was the half way mark between where I have lived the last 20 years and where I grew up. Stopped at the store many a times. Devastating to see what those people are going thru. Prayers and donations going out. The schools here are all having fund raisers today for the victims. You can also donate Saturday at Riverfest. Today Pizza Hut is also donating proceeds from any sales in the Wichita area.

Hmm nice trick question. I must argue with the poster at the begining there IS a Greensburg Kanas. It is still there and always will be the damage is great, the town is in ruins but it is still there. They will rebuild the buildings, the buildings may have all fallen but the spirits of those who live there have not.

As of right now, there is no Greensburg, KS. It is completely gone! The president came today and spent 3 hours touring and just talking to residents. It is to horrific to even discribe.
The rest of the state is drowning in flood waters expecially Reno County.

I have family that lives about 10 miles outside of Greensburg, so yes, I've heard of it, been there. About 95% of the town was leveled when the tornado went through.
Still haven't heard from my family, but since it's my Dad's family and he hasn't heard, I'm praying no news is good news.

The people whose homes were destroyed by the terrible tornadoes have vowed that they will rebuild. What a horribly scary thing to live through. They are brave to want to rebuild in the same place.
