You can have dental work done while pregnant, but you cannot be put out for any surgery only local anesthesia. Let the dentist know that you may be pregnant and they will take the extra precautions

You would just have to call your dentist and tell him that you think you might be pregnant so you will have to postpone the appt. until you find out. Then call your doctor, and ask when is the soonest that you could come in to take a test. The earliest tests for determining pregnancy only your doctor can give you, it might be a waste of money to buy tests form the pharmacy.

Deffinatly be sure if you are pregnant or not before going in for dental work or surgery. It is safe to to have a check up or have your teeth cleaned but they like to wait until after the birth to do any X-rays, freezings, and especially wisdom teeth removed. I would go to the dr. and get a blood test to see if you are prego first and the results will only take a few days. That way you can know for sure. Even if a home prego test says negative I would still get a blood test first to check...

The only real thing you can do is find out if you are pregnant BEFORE your dental appt. If that is not possible get a home pgncy test. IF it turns out neg. cuz it's a bit early, just let your dentist know you may be pregnant. Other than that there's not but else you can do until you find out. If you are pregnant, congratulattions.

You need to have the dental work done, unfortunately, if you get an infection in your gums it can cause premature labor. YOU might have to forgo taking heavy doseage of pain meds, but, a couple of 400mg Motrin will help. Talk to an ob/gyn before the procedure as well as the dentist, you may have to get clearance for the surgery from your ob, and you will def. not wanna risk harming the baby with meds and x rays.

My Ob told me that I can go to the dentist no problem and if my dentist has a problem with it he will refer me to a colleage of his because there is no reason to not go. Just inform your dentist of the possibility in case they are worried about it. You should be able to test by the 21st to make sure. Try first response tests because they are supposed to return a positive result earlier since they detect lower levels of the pregnancy hormone. Get at least two just in case it was too early to come up positive. If it is negative try waiting til the morning of your appointment to retest. Then you should feel better if it comes up negative that day. Beyond that talk to your OB/GYN if you miss your period and that is not normal for you.

Call the dentist and let them know the situation they may have a drug that is safe for pregnant women maybe after the first trimester or now not sure but I was given valium to have mine surgically removed...it's nice to know that you actually care about the possible effects on a fetus if there is one!!

Ooooh. Yikes. You might need to postpone getting your wisdom teeth out! You can test by May 21st and you should get an answer by the 25th for sure.

Good luck!

I'd hold off going to the dentist just to be sure or call the dentist and ask what he or she thinks. Usually it's okay, but you need to let him or her know what's going on. A pregnancy test won't tell you until after you've missed a period. (Trust me I did one before and after, and I got a negative, and here I am 9 months pregnant.)

If you ovulataed on May 7th than you should get your period before your appointment on the 25th so you can take a pregnancy test prior to your appointment and then you'll know for sure.
