Take it to a mechanic because its not going to be fluids or something simple. I've seen these conditions with worn spark plugs, bad o2 sensors, bad computers, bad cat converters....etc. In other words you're going to need it properly diagnosed.

i had the same trouble with my 94 olds. i was low on gas , coming home and the car died, it would start but when you put it in drive it died, i did as you did and also changed the fuel pressure regulator , car still didn't run, called my mechanic and towed it over, he checked the fuel pressure with a gage , and there wasn't good pressure , the problem was the fuel pump ! 300 Bucks , you have to keep at least 1/4 tank of gas , nothing less , the gas keeps the pump cool, the car has 148k miles , and now runs perfect, let the experts fix your car these guys got the equipment and knowledge, i hope i helped you good luck !

I had a similar problem on a '95 lumina, 3.1 engine. It could be one of two things, a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor, or the power cable to one of the underhood fuse boxes. You have to take it to a mechanic for a diagonistic though. Hope this helps.

Could be water in the gas tank unusual yes but can occur. You'd be looking at about $2,500.00 or more to get this fixed depending on what is broken.

The next thing to do is simply get the thing scanned so you know what's making the light come on.
