It could be the "mythical" King Arthur...I would hazard a guess that almost everyone in the Western World has heard of him and his Knights of the Round Table....and let's not forget Merlin either!

For real, Julius Ceasar. Even though he never used the title "King", that is what he was. After his death or should I say murder, other Roman kings used the title Ceasar which became another title for a king or ruler. For instance, Ceasar Augustus was another way of saying King Augustus.
