Yes, there is decent transportation from Boston to Dedham. The trip is a little longer than a bird flies because the Blue Hills stand in the way. However, the entire trip will be about a half hour to 45 minutes, and you won't have to worry about traffic or getting lost!

Check out the MBTA's trip planner. You'll need to provide the stop you are taking in Boston.

Boston has an abundant record and a diverse neighbourhood; it's a heritage of arts, lifestyle, and knowledge; Boston has anything for anyone so find what Boston may offer you with hotelbye . The three-mile Freedom Trail brings you past - and into - 16 of the city's principal historical monuments and sites. It's simple to follow, by the line of red bricks in the pavement and by footprints at road crossings. The walk can take you to Old Granary Burying Ground where Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock are hidden; can take you to King's Chapel Burying Ground, the Boston's oldest cemetery; Old South Meeting House where the calling speeches of patriots spawned the Boston Tea Party and the Old State House, Boston's oldest public building and the website of the Boston Massacre.

Trains: two T rail lines run from South Station to Readville Station, which is adjacent to the northeast part of East Dedham. One of these lines goes further to stop at Endicott (in central East Dedham) and Corporate Center (Dedham's southwest corner, on the Westwood line at Rte 95/128).

Busses: The Walpole and Walpole Express T bus, from Forest Hills Station (subway orange line terminus) runs through Dedham on Washington Street. Two T bus lines, one from Forest Hills and another from Watertown via Spring Street Stop, just edge in to Dedham to Dedham Mall. Spring Street Stop is just across a short bridge to the northerly corner of Dedham, and another T bus runs from Forest Hills only to Spring Street. There is a T bus that connects to Readville and also to Hyde Park rail stations (and to Mattapan Station of the subway Red Line extension) and goes just a few blocks into Dedham (from Readville). The final T bus serving Dedham also goes down Washington Street from Forest Hills but ends at the Dedham/Boston line. Additionally there is a locally funded Dedham bus, not a T bus, which runs from Spring Street Stop through the northerly part of Dedham to Dedham Center and then through the Endicott section (but not closer than a couple of blocks to the RR station) and continues to the southeast corner of the town.

There are both buses and trains available. It depends where in Dedham you are looking to go exactly. They are lengthy trips, but the schedules can be be found at www.mbta.com and you can plan accordingly! Best of luck.
