Hi, I took two depo shots last year and stopped after sept. 06 because I ended up gaining 50lbs within 6 months. It's been 8 months since my last injection and even though I'm not still gaining I'm not losing anything either. I eat like 1,000-1,200 calories a day, exercize (treadmill, trampoline, some pilates) and I feel like I haven't lost a single pound! I also don't get my period very often which worries me. I'm not sure what I should do at this point...has anyone else experienced these problems and have any advice? Thanks

The problem is that you need to eat twice as many calories that you're eating. If you're eating too few calories, you will not lose weight. You need to eat at least 1800 calories a day since you're active, and try to eat around 2000.

As for not having your period, you should see a gynecologist about that and perhaps get onto a low-dose birth control to help regulate your periods again.

Depo does have that affect on people. I gained weight on it as well.

If you are worried about your period, go on the pill and get regulated that way. After depo it could take up to a year for it to come back.

I received 40lbs on depo in a single 12 months and began loosing it quickly upon getting off the shot. I have identified such a lot of different females who saved gaining weight and could not unfastened it whilst on depo. I might particularly advise attempting yet another kind of beginning manipulate.
