"Like a lot of folks in this state I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay
my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order
to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which
I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who
don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to
get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them??
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their
feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on
their ***. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people
had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?????

I am on Welfare. I'm also a single mom of 2. I get assistance w/childcare and food stamps. I also work 40+ hrs a week. I think that if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check, it would crack down on those who use that money for drugs and alcohol. Therefore, stripping them of the privilage of getting that check. However, it wouldn't be fair to those who do work thier @** off and are struggling to make ends meet. I understand your concerns, but many jobs (esp government positions) do random urine tests. It's their right to do so.
Also what about those who are disabled and can't work? Do they fall into your category of dead beats? I hope not.
I agree though that there are people out there who abuse our system. Then there are illegals who don't have to pay taxes and collect a welfare check on top of it all. There are also US citizens who would rather sit on their @** and collect a check.
It's not a perfect system, and I don't think there's much more to do (unless you want to infringe on our right to privacy). I hope we can find a way to weed out those who abuse the system to help those who really need it. I promise you this much. I do and will continue to work my @** off so that I may provide for my children and be able to stand in as Mom and Dad to them.

What about the people "working" for the state who are sitting on their *** making good money?
I don't know what country you live in, but in the land of the free, I don't see why a person would need to take a test if they were not in a position of exceptional responsibility (driving, flying, caring for children).
Personally, I think everyone who receives public assistance should be made to perform some sort of job.

Her 1st wedding was over 15 years ago, so a wedding with all the whistles is fine. Her chance of a wedding has not "passed" as she is not having back to back weddings or doing a re-do, so what she is planning is perfectly appropriate. Not having a bachelorette party is also appropriate as she has been married before. I do not agree with "honey funds\" if she wants a foot massage after having sex, that is her business and she should pay for it. if you don;t want to go that is fine, I think I have a problem with you not really knowing this person that well and she is asking for gifts already, now with that I have an issue. You can decline the invitation or if you decide to go, I think you should give them cash as a present. For a co-worker/acquaintance, I thing $50 is sufficient. Good luck

I agree. I'm 18 years old and on welfare, but I'm also in school, work part-time, and live on my own. I'd say the majority of people on welfare in my area are doing exactly what you stated, sitting on their a**...and it definitely makes the people who use welfare in a productive way look bad, because everyone just assumes we're all on drugs or doing nothing with our lives. I'd take a urine test if I had to.

I agree with you 100%, it seems like the only right thing to do ya know.
I am currently receiving assistance, and I would take a urine test for them any day out of the week no problem.

Thats a nice idea, but it would cost the state even more money to do that. Thus taking away money needed by disabled or the needy, not the small % of drug users.

I definitely think welfare is given out without any thought to actually helping people get OFF of welfare.

I also believe that in order to receive welfare, you have to be either actively seeking employment, or provide a damn good reason why you aren't!

I agree but do you think this will increase the crime rate .... due to all the drugees having to steal from the working people to get there food and drugs? Guess it couldn't be much worse than it is now!!!
