You have KM# 749.2, also E71-035. it is a British penny of Edward VII 1901-1910. It had a mintage of 47,322,240 so it is not a scarce coin. Yes all that stuff in the legend does mean " Edward VII, By the Grace of God,, King of the British territories, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India. It is worth more in the UK then here is the states. There is a large following of British coins though here and the old big pennies of Britain are collected. If the coin is in high grade, such as mint state or close, it can be sold to a world coin dealer or at auction, for a few dollars.. In low circulated grades, it is indeed found in coin dealers world coin boxes for .10 to .25. Of course it also is the start of a collection of British Pennies. Most coin of Great Britain from world war II and before all have history. Hope this answers your question.

There are many sources where you can get information here are a few links I found:

1. The value of a coin depends on the condition you have it (besides the year) You can find some information in the following link:

http://24carat.co.uk/valueofmycoinframe.html

2. In the following link you can find information from the US Treasury on "Buying, Selling & Redeeming" :

http://www.treas.gov/education/faq/coins/sales.shtml

3. How to determine the value of a coin:

You can also take a picture of the coin, and visit several collectors and pawn shops, where you can get an estimate and several opinions.

Some got it right here. It's a bronze 1 penny coin from Great Britain issued under the reign of King Edward the 7 from 1902 to 1910. It's commonly found in dealers' mixed world coins bin for $0.10 to $0.20 each, although books valued it 2 to 3 times higher. "EDWARDVS vII DEI GRA BRITT OMN REX FID:DEF IND: IMP:" means "Edward VII by the Grace of God, King of all the British territories, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India".

It's a British penny; its value depends on its condition. If it's worn it might be worth a quarter. In uncirculated condition, it could be worth significantly more. Take it to your local coin shop, and you can find out more.

I did a little research and I believe it to be an Edward VII British coin. If it is a penny, there are one's similar to it online selling for roughly $1.40 on eBay.
