Yes, those folks up there in New Hampshire are a bellweather for the rest of the country - and, anyways, they like auto racing just as much as the rest of us do - I saw a fan killed by a racing car at a track just over the border from Massachusetts back in 1963 - the fan tried to walk into the infield while some drivers were taking practice laps on the small oval track - can't remember the name of the town or track but it's probably much bigger now.

People have been misled by drug addicted radio talk show hosts spewing delusional nonsense. It doesn't work, it never has, and now with the country stuck in a horrible stupid needless war and trillions of dollars in debt, no national health care as the population ages and becomes infirm...now, finally, the masses are waking up. Do they want their Social Security turned over to private managers (who will charge 30 % fees)? No. Do they want business to be free to dump environmental poisons in the food, air, and water? No. New Deal Liberalism worked just fine. The country did well investing in its future, investing in its people. Liberalism is a much better fit to reality than conservatism, and the public is finally figuring this out.

I think that all of the US is going to shift. We are sick of the republicans and what they have done to us in the past 8 years (when he is outie) and we as a country always flip flop instead of sticking to our morals. I hope that when the new pres comes in, that we actually change some things for the better instead of causing more pain and suffering.
