I have been a wwe fan for about 15 years now, and well... i have noticed that fans these days have NO idea what actual strength is, (some of them of course)..... i mean, its laughable that kids these days think that freaks like Lashley, batista and cena are SO much stronger than people like nathan jones, kane, big show and mark henry.... sure they are ripped and have impressive physiques, but they are NOT stronger than those i mentioned, kane quite easily scoop slams the big show, which is much harder than the firemans carry (cenas FU)... and nathan jones is THE strongest wrestler to ever wrestle in wwe, he finished 3rd in the worlds strongest man competition ( and NO mark henry fans, i hate to dissapoint you but he was never and will never be the worlds strongest man, he won some arnold classic fake event, and came 10th in the US strongman team, which is still impressive, but nathan who was then known as megaman came 3rd in the finals).

The real strongest men in the world look like kane, big show, mark henry and nathan, not ripped guys like batista and all... they are body-builder physiques.

Body builders are positively weak when compared to strongmen competitors, regardless of how good they look....

Batista and cena try to look good when they train, the others just train to be strong...

i just dont see why fans these days think that those popular superstars are SO strong, and yes i do have alot of knowledge in strength sprts and weight lifting.

i want some opinions ehere

@phil ZVZ - WRONG!

for his time he was surely!, but his clean jerk and press stats are over 40 POUNDS less than nathan jones' and strong men in the mid 90s were considerably stronger than the ones back in pateras time, so im afraid the stats work against you, THE FACTS state that nathan jones was THE strongest man to ever compete in WWE

I agree with you. While I've never seen any of the strongman events Nathan Jones was involved in, I did see some of his WWE matches. He's clearly far superior in strength to Mark Henry & John Cena. And I've been following Paul Wight (Bigshow) ever since he debuted in WCW as the Giant. He's the strongest wrestler I've ever seen. He once picked Kane up over his head and spiked him head first off a WWE.com sign that was about 8 feet off the ground. Now that takes strength. I also bore witness to his match against Viscera where he tossed the 500 pound Viscera around like he was a child. Lets see any of todays wrestlers do that. And who could forget the time 'Show caught taker in midair and choke slammed him through the ring? Now that may have been scripted but it took a hell of a lot of strength to do it. None of todays wrestlers except for Khali & Kane are anywhere near as strong as Bigshow is.

Here's the thing...

Wrestling's fake. The 'characters' are as strong or weak as managment says they are.

Sure, Mark Henry the man can out power Dave (whatever batista's last name is) the man. Mark Henry the wrestler, however, is proboboly a bit weaker then Batista, the wrestler.

But your point is well taken.

I'll never forget when the Big Show Vs. Eddie Guerrerro (RIP) fued was going on and Big Show powerbombed Eddie onto the 'lowrider' truck. After that he sort of lazily swatted the side view mirror clean off the car.

It was like nothing. He wasn't even trying. That's scary strength.

i agree, even though i dont know who nathan jones is, but i never for a second believed mark henry to be the worlds strongest man

i hated that it was hard for cena to lift up umaga at new years revolution 07 when he lifted up the big show 2 months earlier (survivor series 06)

If you have watched Brock Lesnars DVD, Kurt Angle says that he has seen Lesnar bench 650 and squat 900, so I say Lesnar, but back in the day, Hulk Hogan, scoop slamming Andre, 500 plus, at WM 3.

well like most WWe fans we base the action and assumptions on what we see. When something looks big and cut up, we assume wow humangious power machine. Unfortunatelly full strength is never used in wrestling, it's entertainment not a UFC fight.

the steroid intake helps get them huge. I think Cena makes a better action figure then a Mark Henry.

I still wouldn't want to arm wrestle any of them. but that's just me.
