Hello everyone, Im 29 weeks pregnant and last night I had really bad, sharp pains in the lower part of my stomach. I couldn't turn over or do anything. I have never experienced these before. It lasted all night, at first it was mild and nothing to strong. Then when I went to bed, the sharp pains begun, and they got stronger then faded. It lasted about an hour, I was going to wake up my dad but then they faded and I fell asleep. Has anyone experienced these before, or does anyone know what it is that I am experiencing?
Also, whilst Im on the subject can I eat dairylea cheese?

It happened to me about the same point in my last pregnancy. I was out for a meal at the time. Went to hospital the following day, they checked me over, gave me a scan and tried to keep me in overnight but I insisted on going home so had strict instructions to rest for 48 hours. Baby was fine.
Go for a check up for your own peace of mind.
Yes, Dairylea is fine, it's the unprocessed soft cheese that is dangerous.

Although it's more than likely that it is just your bub in an odd position - one where he or she is pressing/ pushing against you in a sensitive spot - you really should call the birth suite of the hospital you're booked into and tell them you would like to come in. You will get into a hospital much faster than your Ob. If there is anything to report, the nurses at the hospital will contact your Ob for you. You can also *try* laying on the opposite side to normal and let gravity help you by moving bub a little. But if the pain continues unchanged in the *short term*, or should increase at all, then you should be going to your hospital, Ob, or local doctor asap. Pain should never be ignored, and never allowed to continue or increase unchecked by a health care professional. Act now, not in a few hours.

You can eat dairylea cheese.
Any unexplained pains in pregnancy really should be immediately reported to your doctor or midwife. While this may have just been a nasty bout of indigestion or braxton hicks it is important to get it checked out. You may feel like you're making a fuss, but that is what they are there for and it is better to be safe than sorry!
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy.

Don't eat any dairy that hasn't been processed. If it's processed dairy it should be fine.
Back to your main question. It could have been braxton hicks contractions. They can be painful. I've certainly felt some painful ones. Especially if I did too much that day. Next time it happens lay on your left side and drink water. If they don't subside and if they start getting regular it could be actual labor and you'll want to call your doctor.
However, I'm not your doctor so I suggest you bring it up with him/her.

Avoid blue cheese, pate and raw eggs.
I had really bad pains about that far gone, it lasted all over the christmas period. I was told it was my skin stretching and body parts having to move etc.
Never hesistate to pester the GP!

hi although they could be braxtonhicks they shouldn't be very painful just uncomfortable,if you get them again go to your local maternity hospital and get checked out for your peace of mind, you will get all sorts of pains before your little one appears and its a worry but most are normal, the joys of motherhood, but it will all be forgotten when you hold that little newborn good luck and enjoy your cheese you can eat it just keep away from veined and blue cheese, brie, and all other unpasteurised variety's

the pains sound like round ligament pain, remeber your body is doing alot of streatching to make room for this baby. If they don't go away try taking tylenol.
