Well deppends on the game of curse. But i guess cast time would be the best. if u can hit 300 damage with a spell but u need 5 seconds to cast it, this wont work. but if u can do 140 or 160 in 2 seconds this is goint to be like 450 damage in the 5 seconds u did the 1000 damage but anyway depends on the game. In other hands u dont have to focus on the cast time or damage... this is always the comon problem to start playing a mmorpg. Make sure to ask the players in the game what u need to do with ur character. Also the web guides are a fine source of faq's and other information

It depends, if you have a spell that takes 5 seconds to cast and does 1000 damage...and another spell that takes 2.5 seconds to cast and does 600 damage, the faster spell would be better. But if you have a 2 second spell that only does, say 200 damage and an 8 second spell that does 1500 damage, you will want to use the 8 second spell.
It could go either way, so I would really try to keep them pretty even in the stats.

Apples and oranges.
You mean, cast time and magic damage OR attack speed and attack damage.
I'm going to answer this question by quoting my dad: "Son, it's not how hard you hit them, it's how often."
Faster attack speed with lower damage is preferable to slower attack speed and higher damage. Same goes for magic damage.

attack power because if your casting and it takes a little and the enemies start to move in you can always kick the crap out of them when they get close.
