No. Each grade you do teaches something different. gr. 8, you do amazing, you can do complicated equasions. You skip gr 9, and go to gr 10. Now, its from 5+7/8+578*95= ? to sin, cos, tan, parobolas, quadratic. Like hell you will pass.

I am no expert in this, but I think school offers not only an education as in textbook knowledge, but also a social education. Moving up a grade would put a student with older children and they may not participate as much in the social aspect of school. There are also some subjects that may be completely skipped if you skip a grade. Thus if you skipped the only grade that taught one aspect of American history, you unlikely learn that elsewhere. Pre-algebra can be skipped if you are good at math though.
I think skipping lower grades would be better and graduating a year early would be good too.

Yes, absolutely! Acceleration is one of the best accommodations for gifted students as documented in extensive research. Check out - http://www.nationdeceived.org/
It discusses the advantages of acceleration, the different forms, the research supporting it, and the reasoning of school administrators and teachers who don't follow the advice of the research. It has been shown to be beneficial for both academic and social reasons.
Any grade could be skipped, but in early elementary often the even number grades are considered consolidation years and can easily be skipped. Early entrance into college can provide an easy way to skip a year of high school.
http://www.amazon.com/Iowa-Acceleration-Scale-Manual-Whole-Grade/dp/0910707553
The Iowa acceleration scale can give objective evidence of the benefit of a skip and gives recommendations on which grades are best to skip.
Good luck!

I don't think it's good to skip because, even if your smart, you still might not know every thing you missed. But one thing that isn't bad is you can do two grades in one year, like my friend. She did fifth and sixth grade in one year, and then went on to seventh the next year. She's still in our grade after a few years and doing fine, and she's one of the more popular s, so it's not like the age difference gets in the way.

I skipped a grade in elementary school. In my opinion, the only good time to skip grades is in 4th grade and below.

Yeah why not?
I think it is best to skip early on so that by the time you reach high school and your grades really do matter you will be well adjusted. Maybe 4th, 5th , or 6th grade

No, because being 'smart' is only a matter of comparison. What makes you think that being 'smarter' than anyone else means that you can afford to skip a grade and lose all the knowledge that grade would give you?

you have to prove yourself in order to skip. generally you're tested out of the grade you're currently in. some kids are literally geniuses and skip grades in high school going straight to college. good luck!
