My daughter is one (just turned one today!!) and I actually decided to try luvs. I have been using pampers but since luvs are cheaper and she's older and has more solid bowel movements I thought it would be worth a try. NO WAY! With pampers she NEVER wet through her diaper. With luvs she is always wet. I ended up buying pampers before I was done with the luvs. What a waste of money! I don't have a washer and dryer at my house, so it is a big hassel to have to change her clothes so often. So basically, my opinion is that luvs don't work at all... on boys or girls.

YES!!! I have had a very similar experience. Luvs do not work well at all for Boys. Except, I have a friend who had a Girl shortly after I had my son, and she said they didn't work well for her either. I'm pregnant for the second time now, and I will not be buying any Luvs. I have found that the best diapers on the market are Pampers Cruisers. Pampers Swaddlers for sizes NB to 3, then Cruisers for sizes 3 to 5.
Just a sidenote: The best training pants are made by Pampers too.

Used Luvs for both my daughter and son, and to be honest, I don't think any diaper was as good for the boy as the girl. It all has something to do with the where he is pointed, but as many times as I made sure he was down, he still leaked.

I have a son and I have used them and no leaks. are you pointing his penis down? I would like to add that I perfer the sides that strech and Luvs didnt have them 14yrs ago when I had my daughter and they still dont have them so after he started to crawl and move I stopped using them. If they had strech sides I'd still be buying them. When I was pregnant with my son I bought every brand that walmart had on the shelf and perfered the luvs, whitecloud and huggies. Now that he's a mover I usually buy huggies or pampers both work the same. I'd still be buying white cloud but my son developed an allergy to them :-(

Luvs gave my son a horrible diaper rash. I have never tried the white cloud diapers but my son has been using the UP and UP brand at Target since he was born and I love love love them. We tried Huggies once because we had a coupon and if we could afford it, I would probably buy those all of the time. But for the money, the UP and UP brand are awesome. For a jumbo pack of Huggies it costs around $10 depending on sales for the same pack of UP and UP they are $6.59. A large box of 82 size 4 Huggies is around $20-23 depending on sales for the same box of 82 of UP and UP, it is only $13.69. They are very similar to Huggies except Huggies have an elastic in the back and the UP and UP's do not-which doesn't matter to me at all.

I had two boys and with the first, I used Luvs and loved them. They worked great. With my second one, they leaked like crazy because he was very chubby and round around the middle and they couldnt hug him well enough I guess. We swicthed to Pampers cruisers for him and they work great. So, I think it just depends on the kid. You know, how a certain brand of jeans may work well for you but not your friend? Same thing...Good luck!

I don't know. I use luvs on my baby girl and they work fine. I haven't had a boy yet so I don't know if they work any differently. Huggies, however, leaked really badly with her. Maybe huggies are better for boys or something.

no, i had a daughter first, and Luvs worked great. Then, I had three boys, and I never had a problem with them, but that was back when they made them for different genders.
