It is not true. I believe all you need is a mouse with 2 buttons. Besides, holding Ctrl and clicking produces the same result a Windows does when right clicking.

In terms of mouse messages, no. A two button mouse will right click, and a one button mouse can send a right click message if you hold control. In terms of function, the answer is you cannot right click on a one button mouse.

A Mac mouse has only 1 button, so there is no right or left button. I believe that if you hold down the mouse button it will perform a "right-click."

Of course you can. If you are using one of those "1 button mouse", just hold down "CTRL" on the keyboard and click the mouse button.
