A music teacher in school, depending on location, would earn a set amount monthly. Private would earn however much they want to charge and how often. Your question is open and without specific details can't be answered accurately. Actually you can call your local school board to find that information.

In a public school the same as any other licensed teacher--depending upon the School district, the state and/or the country. I work in a City school district in Southern California, If you wished to know what a music teacher made in my district you could go to our districts' web site: www.sbcusd.com (we've abreviated the governmental identifiers so it's easier to get to) and look up contractual terms of payment based upon amount of education that is: just a credential, less than a full credential; a masters degree; a Phd AND how many years of service in the district.

I believe the starting rate is about $27,000-$30,000 per year for 10 months a year
