Most of the women on Yahoo Q&A seem to think in exactly the same way when it comes to questions of what to do about real or imagined infidelity. "Divorce him" , "leave immediately", "Install spying software", "check his cellphone bill" etc. What planet are you people from?

Optimist, you were so right! Same text, different heading and I get 10 times the response! Cheating is a real trigger word on Y/A.

We are from earth: where the men who think like you are probably the same ones wondering why we won't tolerate your cheating and outright disrespect for women. Ever thought that if men didn't cheat, they'd most likely never have a woman who doesn't trust them? Because if she has to go and get spy-ware, or check your incoming and outgoing calls, that clearly means a woman doesn't trust you. A woman won't trust you if you don't give a reason to. And if most women feel the way I feel, then if there is no trust in our relationship, it's over. That's why women will say "divorce him." No wife should have to suffer because her husband still isn't done sowing his wild oats. She certainly doesn't have to stand around and watch, either. Mistake number one is thinking that a woman does.

Yup it's almost universal. It's hard to fathom why they don't realize that marriage is something that has to be agreed upon and wanted by both parties. Forcing him or pressuring him to get married will only drive a wedge between you or cause you to harbor resentment later in the future. Chances are most of the responses are like that because the majority of women are on here bi****** about how her husband doesn't do this doesn't do that, first off realize it's coming from one perspective so it's defiently going to biased, after all notice how just about all of them don't do anything wrong? Coincedence? I think not. Thank god I found a girlfriend who is an exception to the rule, or else I would "divorce or leave them immediately", and frankly have.

My husband cheated on my and had an affair for two years and I just found out about it 2 1/2 months ago. I was crushed...spyware and divorcing and all of the other etc. was the furthest thing from my mind. I just wanted to know from him what went so wrong that he had to go out and be with another woman when he made a vow to forsake all others...that is exactly what I asked him. And then I told her if she ever came around my home or my husband again she will be slapped with an "Alienation of Affection" lawsuit and a restraining order. She knew what she did was wrong and so did he, takes two to tango.
I am now left with trying to pick up the pieces and save my marriage, or what's left of it and try to learn to trust again.

We're from the planet earth.

It is not all the time when advice is given to leave the man when he cheats. It is however the advice to leave him if there is any signs of abuse to these women while he's cheating.

I have made a statement or two for a woman to leave a man when he's cheating because she's emotionally torn and she needs to step back from the problem to find herself and then from there, she can make the decision whether or not she should leave her husband.

Maybe Planet "Hurt and Confused" or "Not Getting Hurt Again",or "Planet Loser In My Life." . Just to name a few.

Alot of the times, we end up this way because someone has just gotten all up in our kool-aid and decided, after 2 children, he'd rather try a new flavor. You boys need to play with real toys and leave the hard stuff to the real men out there.

Just my opinion.

'So Bob if your wife was REALLY cheating that is if you even have a wife you wouldn't divorce her or install spying software? Are you saying Oh its all good if the wife cheats because I will just forgive her and take her back.' I understand about the IMAGINARY INFIDELITY, but its different when its REAL INFIDELITY.

Women are now living in the real world. Not the fantasy that you read in books. The white knight died and we are left with the frog and all his worts. Woman have lived in a fantasy world for years it is time they get their head out of the clouds and protect themselves. Men have been getting away with cheating for years and the women are now getting smarter. Men don't like that. Well, to the new world.

Well, what would YOU do if your wife/gf was cheating on you? I agree with you in one way - no one should tell anyone to leave someone. That is not a fair statement to make. So I have a few questions for you: Would you sleep with your wife/gf KNOWING she was cheating on you (possibly raw-dog) and possibly bringing you diseases you can't get rid of (Herpes, AIDS)? Would you put your mouth on places on her if you did not know where she had been, but knew she was with someone that was not you? Does it not bother you to envision the love of your life passionately being satisfied by someone that is not you? YOU think about it and let US know what planet YOU'RE from.

The planet where men run out on their kids, empty the family bank account, take trips with their girlfriends and drink, gamble and drug away the kids college fund.
In real life a man who is or likes to cheat, brings home diseases and plenty of trouble.
If you ask them they will tell you, "I know, I've been there"
Only in manland do men cheat once and never do it again.

Um, where are you from? Why on earth would you think that a husband or wife shouldn't file for divorce if they catch their spouse cheating? Even if a person could forgive someone for their infidelity, the relationship is ruined, there's no more trust. If people tolerated being cheated on, there'd be even more cheating going on than there already is. How hard is it to just keep it in your pants, there's no excuse for cheating.
