I like tampons best, but everybody is different. You should use what you feel most comfortable with.
For any product, there should be directions somewhere in the box. Before trying to use the product, make sure you read through the directions completely. If you use a product incorrectly it will probably be uncomfortable. If it is uncomfortable, take it out and redo it. It might take a few tries before you get the hang of it.
Also keep in mind that sanitary napkins and tampons are not the only options. Check out this site to see the different options:

Hope this helps!

Tampons only feel weird when you do not insert them the right way. Follow the directions on the paper and you shouldnt feel anything. If you do, then try again with a new tampon

Ok , some of us ladies know what you are talking about : ) There is a slender regular size that when i use it i can't tell. Don't wear something that makes you feel uncomfortable at any time. Some of these rpoducts are made" longer" instead of thicker and cause less discomfort. I think Tampax makes it. Good Luck

Um I thing tampons..you probably just used it wrong the 1st time but I think it's more comfortable than pads because all pads leak and dont absorb like they say they do..you never feel wet with a tampon :-) Hope this helps

I like the Tampax Pearls. It felt weird in the beginning for myself as well, but after a short period of time the thought of not using one seems even more bizarre.

They all work about the same. I like the plastic applicators better though, and the reason it felt weird was because you didn't have it in far enough. If it's in right, you won't feel a thing. Good luck!

Why don't you start with a junior size one. They can be easier because they are smaller. Make sure you relax when doing this because it can be uncomfortable. I like the Playtex Pearl or anything with a plastic or applicator that is not made of cardboard. Cardboard irritates me. I hope you find one that will be comfortable. Good Luck!

~It probably felt weird because you didn't get it inserted far enough up in the vagina. I prefer Tampax tampons..no smell, no mess..combined with a pantyliner works for me~
