In my best opinion, Severus was forced to kil Albus b/c Albus ordered him to (To much disdain of other readers).
It could be possible that Albus was getting too old for him to Face Tom (Voldemort), and wanted to let Harry know about the Hocruxes. Other readers may not know, but Severus is an enemy as much as he is an Ally.

I certainly have heard approximately this in the previous and that i think of sure. I heard an thrilling theory approximately it and that i've got self assurance it. Dumbledore knew with regard to the unbreakable vow Snape made. Draco or Snape might have had to kill him, and Dumbledore might placed himself for all people in the college, the two he might die or Snape/Malfoy might. he's a self-much less individual, so needless to say he asked -- or ordered, Snape to kill him. Snape became into cautioned to kill Dumbledore by ability of Dumbledore.

Snape is Snape. He is beyond that sort of simplistic categorization, IMHO. I do believe he is not as evil as he appeared at the end of HBP. It would take too much space to really go into this in detail, but consider this:

It is well known that Snape played the double-agent prior to the death of Harry's parents, and there is no reason to believe he wasn't still a double agent on the anti-Voldemort side. Why then did he bind himself to the success of Draco's mission and then actually kill Dumbledore?
My answer: Dumbledore knew that destroying Slytherin's ring had fatally wounded him and Snape knew so too. Therefore he allowed himself to be bound to Dumbledore"s death, a death he knew was imminent and against which he knew Dumbeldore had taken precautions to ensure that his death would not derail the anti-Voldemort movement.

Now, on the other hand, if Snape has turned coats; why did he not kill Harry* or disable him and take him helpless to Voldemort? JKR made it clear that Harry is no match for Snape as a wizard (yet). If you look at Snapes "taunts" at Harry and put them into anyone else's mouth, they're very good advice on what Harry needs yet to learn to fight strong adult wizards on anything like equal terms.
My answer is that Dumbledore at some point shortly after Harry was orphaned made Snape take an unbreakable vow to protect Harry. This fits in perfectly with Snape's actions toward Harry in the books thus far. Yes, Snape is a mean SOB to Harry, but that is Snape's personality, and he didn't vow to be nice to Harry after all.

My conclusion is that in Book Seven, Snape will act covertly and eventually overtly to aid Harry, that he will likely live, and that Harry will be just as in the dark over Snape's motivations as when Harry entered Hogwarts. (BTW, the above is why I don't think Harry will die. If I'm right, then Snape dies too if Harry dies, and Snape is the ultimate survivor).

*My reading of the prophecy is that there is no requirement that either has to directly kill the other, just that one no longer lives, so I think Snape certainly could have killed Harry and talked he way out of it afterwards

Dumbledore is dead. JK Rowling said so herself in an interview she did. As far as Snape killing Dumbledore, I think he had no choice for a couple reasons. For one he made the unbreakable vow with Narcissa Malfoy. For those who don't know what that is, it means that if he were to break the vow, he would die. He vowed to Narcissa that if Draco couldn't carry out Voldemort's plan then he would step in and take care of it for Draco. Secondly, I agree that it might have been a plan. However, the surprised look in Dumbledore's eyes when Snape killed him kind of disputes that theory. Why would he be surprised if he knew this was what was gonna happen? It could've been an act, but still...... Only one who knows is Rowling, and we'll all know soon enough. July 21st can't come soon enough!

I agree with you but little different. I think Albus didn't want Snape to break that promise(to watch after Malfoy) he made with Malfoy's mom and would have to die for breaking it. And every reader knows that Albus cares so much for the professor and his student so when it was time to save malfoy Albus told snape to make it seem as if he(Snape) killed him(but his death to me is confusing). Well I think he isn't death but that another story. I agree about Snape being an enemy and a savor at the same time. But he is always giving a vibe as being a bad person. And finally that's exactly Albus told everything to Harry b/c he knew he was going to die.

At first after reading "the Half-Blood Prince" I was sure Snape was evil, but after reading that link I'm unsure. Obviosuly Snape is going to play a very significant role in the final book, and I'm beginning to lean towards the idea that he actually is on the side of the Order. But even so, I don't think he's really a "good" person.

Also, Rowling herself has confirmed Dumbledore really is dead, so there's no denying it.

That's an interesting theory, but I doubt that Dumbledore would really want himself to be killed. Then again, this could all be an act. Snape could have "killed" dumbledore on his orders but snape would have known there was some sort of plan. either way, we'll have to wait for the 7th book to figure everything out for sure.

Never thought of that, but it sounds a little like a possibility of being true; although I believe more on the side of his actual evilness because he almost killed Harry. Also have you ever thought of the possibility of Albus still being alive????
