Here's how things used to go. You can change things up however you want.
Debut
a) Welcoming of guests
b) Grand entrance of the debutante
c) Cotillion
d) First Dance (w/ father)
e) Dance w/ Escort
f) 18 sets of 18:
i. 18 Roses (18 guys close to the debutante who'll waltz with her after handing her a rose)
ii. 18 Candles (18 close gal pals who'll give a speech)
iii. 18 Gifts or Treasures (usually 18 'older' women who'll present their gifts to the debutante & give a speech to why they chose those particular gifts)
iv. 18 Wines (18 'older' men who'll give a speech after presenting the debutante with a wine glass)
v... any other set of 18 you can think of. These first four are the only people-oriented.
g) Video/OHP Presentation of the debutante's life
h) Song/Dance/Whatever performance of close friends
i) time to eat
j) present the cake
k) Closing remarks c/o the debutante's parents
l) the debutante FINALLY gets to talk
m) everyone less than 18 years old in the room will get pieces of paper strung at the edge of the cake. works very much like a fortune cookie; the strips of paper contain sayings on Adulthood & marriage.

Good luck!

some things here may help too, for like themes.

First dance should be your father!

http://guints.tripod.com/ann/id1.html this is a personal story of 1 girl. also good ideas.

http://www.orientaltrading.com/ great inexpensive place for party supplies!

I hope your day is filled with Joy and so many happy memories!

Another great idea have disposable cameras at each table, ask guess to take pictures then have a box they can put them in as they leave! that way you will have some great pictures.

You can also have a scrap book page for each guest to write anything they want, or draw, ect..

Most of all HAVE FUN!!!

do you mean a debutante party?
i wouldn't know, i didn't have those kind of party's back then.

when it comes to roses, who knows!
but for your dance, it should be with your dad! he helped bring you into the world!
