Since it will be at night you want something dramatic. You have dark hair so why not go with the smokey eyes effect. Try dark gray eyeshadow in the corners with a lighter gray up to (as a highlighter) up to the brow and use black eyeliner.
Maybe top it off with a little bit of glitter or a glitter eyeliner - in Vegas we use glitter on everything :o)

Look up what colors look best with your eye color. Neutrals are good for prom...you don't want to be too colorful..haha.

a golden/tan eyeshadow from the lashes to the brow and a light cocoa from the lashes to the crease... it's totally cute and goes with basically all eye and dress colors b/c it's neutral... but if you do it right, it really stands out!

the general rule is to wear eyeshadow that goes with your eye color and not with your clothes.

it depends on what color your dress is. if is goes with gold, wear a light, shimmery gold color. same with silver. a fool proof eyeshadow is a mary-kay icicles pink color. hope that helps!

Well it really depends on te color of your dress. I would wear a shimmery poder though that makes your eyes pop.

well what color is your lipstick!? a brightly-colored lipstick should have neutral eyes
what color is your dress!? try to match to this
finally, what color are your eyes!?
pinks and greens look best with brown eyes
browns and blues look best with blue eyes
purples and pinks look best with green eyes

don't know what color your dress is, but don't use the same color as your dress.
No matter what, don't wear blue, blue eyeshadow should have never been evented.

on your avatar you have blue eyes but I cant be sure. Make a statement with colors that bring them out.

blue - soft greens
green - bronze
brown - greys and citrus colors
hazel - light blue
