LOL. That should be a poster on the wall of the boss' office, or a sticker on the bulletin board. Maybe it would encourage employees to slow down.

Been saying that for years and very few people get it.
In my trade they hope you get it done fast enough so that if it needs repaired or remade that you made it fast enough the first time that there is time to repair or remake it, and if you did happen to get it right the first time they made a lot more money than they quoted of which is what they want. So if 50 percent of the time you get it right then you have made a small profit but if you get it correct more than 50 percent of the time you have made the company money and they in turn will continue to exist and your job will be more stable. Could give a lot more but this is the jest.

This is so true. And some sloppy lazy people should learn to live by it. If i do something the first time and i know what im doing, then it is going to get done right and its going to look great. I love this statement. And even if i dont know what im doing, I make it look good, and if its wrong TRY AGAIN IN A FASHIONABLE WAY!!

Hmmm interesting statement. I think that it is particularly true in most situations. If you would just take the time to do it right the first time, then you wouldn't have to worry about finding time to do it all over again.

It hits home. People waste more time not doing things right the first time BECAUSE they have to do it over. Might as well take the time to do it right in the first place.

I read this a lot where I used to work. It wasn't that I didn't have the time to do it right the first time, it was just I wanted that short cut.

Since I don't take the time to do it right the first time, I feel that this is justification for procrastination.

Well if you regret not spending enough time the first time then you might spend more time the second time to do the job better.

It means give up. It's what my parents did after 4 years of trying to raise me.
