Chances are that in public and in school there will be more than one Michael anyway; so people (teachers in particular) generally appreciate a nickname. Mack is unique and I don't think its too potentially "hazardous". What I mean by that is other kids don't have too many things that they could combine mack with to make it an insult.

The name 'Mack' was a name that used to be used when someone wanted to call a man but didn't know his name.
"Say Mack, where's Grand Central Station?" Or "Say Mack?Have you seen a tall blonde hanging around here in the last five minutes?"
The name Mack was used to address faceless nameless everyman.

So Michael Jr is called Mack.
Sounds good to me. If he hates being called Mack, he may decide when he's older to to by Mike, Mikey, Mick, or Mickey... or whatever the "A" stands for. Maybe MJ... Really, it's got possibilities, but he won't be pidgeon-holed either.

I love love LOVE the name Mack!!! i think is is actually a great compromise and a really alterntive to naming home something after someone else. I love it! I also think that it is very cute and can fit with a baby, but also very manly for when he is grown up, and also very easy to spelll/learn to write, and to say. It's all around very great!
Good Luck!

well there are ovualtion kits you can try im doing them now and they are great !!! you buy them at the drug store or any shop that sells pregnancy stuff... you buy an ovulation kit for 5 days it comes with 5 peeing cups and 5 tests you do one test a day for 5 days at the same time every day.... it sort of looks like a pregnancy test but for ovualtion.... it comes up positive when you are at your highest and that means you are going to ovulate in 24 - 36 hours so you have sex on the day you get a positive and the day after....its worked for alot of women thats just an easier thing to try so that when you know you are most fertile you can plan a romantic evening and just enjoy the night instead of worrying the WHOLE month about making sure that you and your husband had sex on certain days so goodluck and for the future CONGRATS

Mack is a pretty cool name, and not unreasonable as a nickname for Michael. I like it.

Sounds a lot better that what a lot of parents are naming their kids now a days. But why would you want to call him by his initials and not just Michael or Mikey?

Mack is a great comprimise. Your husband gets his way, and you don't have to call him Junior or anything.
I think it works find for a little boy.
