You know.. the kind that dont have a motor or anything. Its got this round thing with baldes and you just push it and it spins and cuts the grass? Have you used one? Do they work well? I am looking to get one because I think it would be easier to cut the grass and still be able to see and hear my kids in the yard. Any input is appriciated. Thanks in advance!

Old time push mower
or a manual mower
I think they work well if you have a small area to mow and keep it well oiled and the blades sharp. It will still be a lot of work to use, but i see your reason for wanting to go that route.

It's a push mower and yes it'll be easier to hear when using, but it's going to be a lot of work depending on the size and thickness of your grass.

You mean the old fashion type?? They are called push reel mowers. I'm not impressed with their cutting quality, but you are right, they are quiet and surprisingly easy to use.

It's called 'reel lawn mowers' or 'Push Reel Mowers'. I've not used one but you can check out reviews on sites that sell them.

You are talking about the reel type push mower. When you find one, this will help.
