It's not anymore. I'm very skinny (naturally) and I'm beginning to feel very unattractive about my size, just like curvy girls used to. Some of the celebs are still very thin and starving themselves to be small and all the tabloids do is ridicule. All I hear now is "real women have curves" and that skinny women "look like 9 year old boys" Makes me feel great you can imagine. The tabloids are really pushing the eating disorder thing, convincing people everyone under 120 lbs is anorexic. You're right Hilary and Lindsay did look better with more curves, but skinny can look good too. It's just when girls who are naturally curvy starve themselves they don't look good cuz that's not their natural body type. I don't want to downplay the seriousness of eating disorders, I know they exist and it is sad that some girls buy into the skinny is best idea, but in my opinion, the media is really playing it up. Attacking skinny people and calling them unattractive is not gonna do anything to help anyone, especially the girls who do have eating disorders. Most people who are skinny are just naturally skinny, but people will believe anything the media and tabloids tell them. I think soon skinny is gonna be ridiculed and looked down on the same way larger girls used to be. That's just a skinny person's take on it, you may see things completely different.

Many many many women are in your situation. Take Victoria's secret. Those models are arguably the most beautiful women in the world. It's one of the most successful markets around. The question is, why is one of the most successful companies hiring models to wear their clothes whom have a body type that maybe 9% of the world's women can achieve without resorting to starving themselves??
They pick those women with the rare thin body types so average women like us will look at their bras and go "WOW! if I spend $55 on a bra, I'll look just as beautiful as Gisele!"
Not really in those words but you get the idea.
Being that skinny isn't the only body type that's beautiful. Having some hip fat, a little booty, and some breasts is what's beautiful. Nature designed women with the intent of having children and body fat: not bone thin.
Don't get down on yourself and stop feeling the pressure-not many women AT ALL can achieve those body types without starving themselves. Too many famous people starve themselves just to look disgusting....
We are women and just beautiful without being a size 0!

because the media portrays it that way. celebs and models are thin and we see them on tv, advertisements, etc. it's hard not to see all the skinny images of famous people and not feel you some kind of pressure to be skinny.
but back then, ages ago, skinny was not in. rather if you were rich, you would be quite fat because only the rich could afford all those rich foods, and the poor could not.
but yeah i agree with you. i thought hilary duff looked fine the way she was, now she's too skinny.

Hillary and Lindsey definitely looked better not so skinny. So does Jessica simpson. And drew barrymore. If people tell you you are perfect the way you are enjoy the compliment and don't worry about an impossible standard that doesn't look all that great anyway!

i totally agree with u and i know how u feel cuz i'm like that too... i think being skinny you have a lot more advantages( cool stores have small sizes, large sizes are not common) and u are generally healthier when you're skinny, but not like too skinny either... that's what i think, honestly i like my curves but i think if i was skinny i would be more happy with how i look and i would select nice styles of clothing rather than sticking with simple, boring, large stuff....that's my view on it but do what makes u happy and dont be pressured into anything

Wait.. what? 9lbs in simply over every week?! The healthful alternative is loosing among one million-two kilos every week, but when your too stressed to seem thin and wipe away your entire probelms, due to the fact that being thin relatively solves the whole lot doesnt it? So my pal ask for a few "hints and tips" out of your peers on the professional ana group. Glad to support.

Well, thin/skinny people are people who know it's good to eat healthy, to exercise, and they are people who can control themselves when eatings, and know when they should take a healthy jog, or bike to school/work.
It means they have self confidence in themselves, and they spread that to people they know.
Sometimes, it's not good to be to thin, but thin in a healthy way.
As long as you eat healthy, and exercise and have agood lifestyle, you should feel energetic and confident. And that is what people want to see from other people.
Thats why they are admired, not just because they have slim, in shape bodies.
Overwieght people are considered to have low self esteem and willpower, so nobody wants to be like them.
GOOD LUCK!
