Go to search in your Start menu and type in the suspected file name. It should look in every possible place. Also are you sure you remember the name of the file correctly?

If none of the above work do a search for the document. Open "my computer" and click on the drive you normally save your files to (C, D, etc).

There should be a spyglass with the word "search" next to it. Click on that and enter either what you called the document (if you can remember) or if there was a key word within the document, enter that in the line below. If the document was saved, you should be able to find it this way.

Go to your start button on the lower left corner. Click it and then go to the search line on the right side of the pop up menu click it and go to documents. If not found there do another search for files and folders. If you know how you saved it and under what name you should see it under documents.

Using Windows?

Go to the start menu, and select Search. If you know all or part of the filename, type it into the box. You can also narrow the search to the date the file was last modified, etc.

If it's on the PC this is the easiest way to find it.

Hope this was helpful, and best of luck!

Use the search option on the start menu, or open the program you created it with. It should be under recent documents. Also, make sure it isn't in the recycling bin as you may have accidentally deleted it.

If you know the name of the file just do a search for it. Click Start and then Search. When the search window opens click on "All files and folders". Type the name of the file in the box called "All or part of the file name" and then click "Search".

Go back to the program you saved it with & do a: File>save as. The pop-up dialogue box to 'save' a filename should also show you where it saves normally.....where it saved last. Your project should be in that location.

try opening up the program you used to create it and see if it is in the history in the File Tab. Or, click file open and see if you can open up the tab "My Recent Documents" (in XP)
