I work as a nurse's aide. And I just started doing it. I started my job at a nursing home almost 3 weeks ago and they treat me like a toddler. My bosses even yell at me. And I want to leave, but when you apply somewhere they always ask your reason for leaving. What should I say when I don't hate the job, just the people I work for?

Because you have been at this place for only 3 weeks I would not even put them on my resume. Move on fast and forget they ever existed.

Ya, I've been there.
Inform the interviewer that there are issues at the home and you are uncomfortable talking about them, but in short you could say none of the people get along with each other.

You know if your BOSS makes you feel uncomfortable you need to keep a record of how HARASSING he is then you can have his job. Tell the new employer that the Superior yells all the time. THis might sound like you are a whiner but when you start off with I love the job and feel I do it well I just made a hasty decision on taking THAT job. Good Luck.

What were you doing prior to working at the nursing home? Where are you applying to?

No offense, but what your discribing sounds pretty normal to me. There's always going to be speedbumps to cross and no job is "peaches and cream". I've been employed for 10 years and am damn good at what I do, but my bosses yell at me too every now and again. I just don't let it bother me.

But to answer your question, if you've been there 3 weeks, you shouldn't even put it down. If you do, it without question raise a red flag and it will make you look like you can't commit. I've conducted quite a few interviews in my time -- I'd leave it out.

If I were you, I would just QUIT. Just tell them another company offered you a better position & you decided to take it. Don't even put yourself through this stress anymore. There are millions of jobs out there that you can be happy with so don't even settle for less. From what you describe how they treat you, They don't deserve even a 2 weeks notice. Simply, DON'T PUT THEM ON YOUR RESUME or even talk about them to potential job offers in the future so you don't get questioned about it. What you put on your resume or disclose about your past jobs is your business. So, go ahead & quit this job & go find yourself a place to work where you will be happy & treated with respect. A manager yelling on the job is never a good sign.

GOOD LUCK!

It is never wise to bad mouth an older job to a potential employer (or so I've heard). Just say that you wanted to find a place where all of your skills would be utilized.
