No, sometimes the calls do go through to the States, it depends on the time of day...

But hey - look on the bright side - it is an American company - so at least you're going straight to the top!!

I have spoken to both Irisah and Americans and they have been equally helpful.

Here in Germany - I am not sure where they are from - she had an English name though!

PayPal is a U.S. company... I never spoke to anyone with an Irish accent. The headquarters is in San Jose, California, the Operation Center is in Omaha, Nebraska and their International Headquarters is in Dublin, Ireland. They also have operations in Germany.

That being said, I don't know what number you are calling and where it might be directed to. If you are hearing American accents, my guess is you are calling a number that is being redirected to the U.S. or, they have some Irish people working for them that can mimic some really good American accents. :-)

P.S. No offense yKnot but, people in India can not 'fake' an American accent... at least I never heard one that could. :-P

If I was going to get in touch with them,i would only do it through their site, its the safest way, even if they send emails with links always be very wary,I had one once, clicked on the link, entered password e.t.c then it asked for my credit card numbers,i got suspicious immediately and contacted paypal through their site and changed my password. They told me it was a scam and thanked me for letting them know,at the time i was lucky,so be very careful.
