I didn't see anything wrong with the beer can throwing. The race was over. No one important was in danger. I thought is was hilarous.

The only valid answers to this question are the ones comprable to this one. Yes, Jeff Gordon is one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time. Yes, despite having beer cans thrown at him every time he wins a race he still has a large following. Yes, from a philisophical standpoint fans should be allowed to throw whatever they like at him in the event that he wins. But No, from a legal standpoint NASCAR cannot tolerate this kind of behavior because fans may be hurt in the process. NASCAR sees it as a liability which is what they should do. By the way, I'm a Jeff Gordon hater too.

Should Baseball, Football, or Basketball fans be allowed to throw beer cans at the players? You show your ignorance just by asking that stupid question.

No one important was in danger? I believe that to be a callus remark. Beer cans ( or any object for that matter) should not be thrown no matter who it is.
