Lady Thatcher signed the Anglo Irish Agreement in 1985 (which led to all the Unionist MP's at Westminster resigning their seats in protest)

Thatcher's input to Northern Ireland was totally negative. She assumed a colonial position and policies which polarised the communities in Northern Ireland.

If Thatcher was still in power, Northern Ireland would still be midst of terrorism and counter terrorism and all that, that entails.

Every politician since Lloyd George has claimed to have the solution to the north of Ireland problem.

In reality only Tony Blair found the answer. He alone brought the two sides together, no one else.

Not Maggie, not John. Blame Tony Blair for the peace process in Ulster and the power sharing arrangement.

Result - freedom, peace and an Assembly for the people.

thatcher did nothing for Ireland or for her own people. she was nothing but a narrow minded greedy crone who quit when the going got tough. the peace process started back in the 70's Gerry Adams was already in secret talks with the British. john hume and the SDLP getting all the accolades for the ceasefires is a joke. hes nothing but a glory hunter hanging on the coat-tails of greater men. it was the republicans and the loyalists who brokered the ceasefires. the SDLP and the alliance party just sat on the fence watching the process through binoculars. all nationalists know this thats why sinn fein wiped the floor with the SDLP in the recent assembly elections.

There was nothing in Northern Ireland for her to privatise, so she gave it a wide birth.

Blair made the biggest impact over there by far. But he is/was? a much better PM.

And Major did nothing for Ireland or us or anyone, apart from Edwina Curry that is.

Did the evil dictator do anything for anybody except her cronies. Many of the social problems we encounter today were caused by Thatcher and her henchmen. She created a society of "I want and I want now" attitude and "I will do anything to get it even if it means stabbing my fellow man in the back to get it". It was her who said Socialism should not exist. How can a nation survive and prosper without its people having a social conscious? It is only now we are seeing the disastrous effect she had during her period of office.

At that point in time, nerves were still being hit at every movement, she tried but to no avail, Major was a genius and really got the ball rolling. Blair has been very lazy and i hope the next Tory prime minister brings more joy to our Irish friends and cousins in Great Britain. Long Live The Queen

I agree there is not any desire for it, i think of there ought to be extra durable effects for people who try this homicide and reason mayhem. some human beings discover it no longer elementary to settle for that Northern eire isn't eire and are immature approximately that and experience the ought to take it out on harmless Northern eire voters.

No. Wish I could expound but the answer is just that simple. More Irish Protestants and Catholics were murdered during her administration than any other in history.
