The polyester will fight you the whole way. If hot water wash didn't work, then it's not going to happen.

Getting to sleep faster:
1. set up a routine and follow it each night. It might involve reading something fairly boring, drinking an herbal tea (like Sleepy Time), taking a warmish bath or shower, etc.

2. Avoid all stimulants including coffee, tea, chocolate for hours before bed.

3. Gentle exercise helps....about an hour before try yoga.

4. Make the room totally dark. Soft quiet music helps some people.

5. Being comfortable is a biggie. If the bed, pillow, bed clothing, your clothing are uncomfortable or the room is too hot or cold, change as necessary.

6. Finally, don't allow yourself to think about problems, the next day's chores, etc. All that should have been dealt with hours before. It may take an hour's routine for you to get settled down.

7. Some people get relief from taking either Melatonin or Valerian before bed. Didn't help me, might for you.

Try washing the fabric in hottest water you can. Usually the combination of hot water and a hot dryer will shrink fabric.

As for falling asleep faster, try using relaxation techniques.
If you are trying to remember things you have to do in the morning, make a list before going to bed. If anything is bothering you, write about it in a journal, so the thoughts
have been "removed" from your conscious mind right before bed. Then try some deep breathing as you relax in bed.
In through the nose, out through the mouth, slowly and evenly.
Just concentrate on the breathing, nothing else.

Shrinking, wash in hot water.

Sleeping, I've always loved this question. "What pill do I take?" My answer, tell the gardener and housekeeper to take the day off. Absolutely exhaust yourself doing good, honest, hard work. Then, enjoy a good meal and a glass of wine and you'll sleep like a baby.

I doubt that you can shrink the fabric. To fall asleep faster, try relaxing or reading before going to bed.

The only way to shrink is wash in hot water and dry on high heat.

Try exercising an hour before you go to bed. You can also focus on your breathing and tell your brain to shut-up. I found on the nights I can not fall asleep it is because I can't stop thinking. If you don't allow yourself to think then you will be able to sleep.
