Jim Brown's yards/carry were awesome and his line wasn't anything special. Barry was a highlight reel but was far from the best, woulda coulda shoulda. Emmit had a great line but he still did it and there's something to be said for durability and longevity. five years ago everyone was saying how preist ws goingto bust all emmits records and what happened. Tomlinson is great but time will tell so until then he is great right now and that's it.
Jim brown best ever

Emmitt Smith-All time leading rusher
Toss up between Walter Payton and Barry Sanders as best pure talent.

Think about this! Put Barry Sanders behind the line Emmit Smith had with the Cowboys all them years,And put Emmit behind the line Barry had to play with, Barry would be the All time leading rusher by far,he would have gotten the record regardless, but he chose to retire b 4 he broke it! Barry Sanders by far is the best ever!

Jim Brown. He did it in less time and retired when he had a lot left in his tank to do movies because it was better money. In today's game he would have played 15 seasons instead of nine.
And as stated above,Brown played 14 game seasons. He was a beast.

OBVIOUSLY EMMITT SMITH BY STATISTICS. BUT I WOULD SAY GALE SAYERS SIMPLY BY ATHLETIC ABILITY. HIS CAREER WAS CUT WAY SHORT BY A KNEE INJURY THAT COULD BE RE-HABED THIS DAY AND TIME. THE MOST CONSISTENT REGARDLESS OF WHO HE PLAYED WITH AND OR AGAINST WAS JIM BROWN. BO JACKSON MAY HAVE BROKEN ALL THE RECORDS HAD HE PLAYED ONLY FOOTBALL AND NOT INJURED HIS HIP. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE JERRY RICE OF RUNNING BACKS IN MY OPINION.

Only because LT's career is still active will I say Barry Sanders. He has the numbers, the highlights, and he did it with a sub-par offensive line, recievers, and QB for most of his career. LT will overtake this once he is all done.
