Its cause black people can say the *N* word but not white people, but a Black person can still call a white person a white trash honky and get away with it. Its just how it is I guess. AL Sharpton is a bit of a hypocrite.
and i will probably be called racist because of my comment because its easy for people to label you that way, but I'm not.

Quoting Will Rogers doesn't make anyone's answer intelligent. Ignoring all the good Sharpton has done to label him a disgrace to humanity is in fact, a disgrace to the nobility of the Lakota people.
Al Sharpton's comments and abrasive personality don't change the fact that Imus made racist remarks, has been doing so for years and has said one of his producer's jobs was to make the n-word jokes.
Don Imus got what he deserved. Those young women were just playing basketball, he didn't need to mess with them.
Anyone who says otherwise is narrowminded and stubborn and an obstacle to unity in America.

What's Sharpton going to get fired from? I don't like Sharpton, but I think there is a difference between Sharpton being an *** on his own time and Imus being an *** on a network that can go ahead and fire him.
If, for example, you stand on a street corner and shout "I hate (insert group here)", you may be an ***, but you are probably not going to get fired. If you stand up in your office and shout it to a colleague who belongs to that group, you may kiss your career goodbye.

I agree totally. Sharpton has done a lot to hurt race relations over the Imus thing. Imus made a mistake and apologized immediately, over and over. But, not enough for big Al. He's a sad, sad, sorry, fat man.

CBS fired Imus, not Sharpton. I don't like Sharpton but he has free speech. Imus has free speech too and the 1st amendment protects him from gov. interference. There was no gov. interference here. His employment is based on the discretion of CBS. If you have a problem with the firing, your problem is with CBS.

I don't think Sharpton has ill intentions. But I do believe his words and actions do nothing but create more and more division. If Sharpton were a fireman, and racism was the fire, he'd show up with a can of gas.

Al Sharpton is an azz and should have stayed out of the Imus situation. While it was okay that Imus got fired, Sharpton should have had no part in it.

It could be because Al Sharpton has credentials as a civil rights activist, while Don Imus has credentials as an offensive shock-jock.
Then again, a shock jock's /job/ is to be offensive, while a civil rights activit's job is to advance ideals of tollerance.
So, maybe it is the obvious reason.

I guess you could slap the "Justice Brothers" (Al & Jesse) on the hands, but what else could you do? Neither of them work, unless you consider creating problems a job. Both are racists, and both seem to pop up and run their mouths at what they perceive is racial injustice (it seldom is). It would be wonderful if the media would stop giving them a forum, but then our media loves to stir the pot too.

No, it's because Sharpton isn't on anyone's payroll.
Who's going to fire him?
I think he's an arrogant, bigoted jerk, but what corporation are you claiming should fire him?
