When Americans commit crimes aren't we taken away from our children? our mothers and fathers? I mean to me getting deported to see your other family and not being locked in a jail cell for years is alright. All they're going to do is come right back right? Don't think giving birth in the US was an accident. I

For my first answer that I have- We all know the laws about the mothers. But now whenever I cut on Univision all I see is crying mothers and children saying "It's not fair you're taking our father! He should be given his papers along with everyone else!!" Then if we give in to the fathers then it's going to be the uncles, the aunts and the nieces and nephews that live in the house so they can all stay together.

While I feel for the children the reality is that the parents who came here illegally were well aware of their illegal status when they had their children - therefore I really don't think that changes anything for them.
They broke the law and as law breakers they deserve the correct punishment - deportation. If they choose to take their kids fine, if not then put them in the care of family who IS legal and go back to their home country.

It is black letter Law inscribed in the Constitution. Anyone born on US soil is an American Citizen. The status of their parents does not come into play.

It is a moral obligation that the Government not arbitrarily destroy families because of a difference in citizenship status of parents and their children.

As a practical matter, since these children are legally entitled to be in this country guess where their parents are likely to be?

Still the law says the children can stay, but the parents must go. Following the letter of the law in cases such as these serves no one.

So, yes, parents of US born children that are already in this country should be allowed to stay and on a path to legal status (not necessarily citizenship).

No, but the laws are already set up on this issue, and the children are American citizens. This isn't anything new for any immigrant. The mothers are allowed to stay in the Country with a free pass until the children are of age, or they themselves become American citizens.

No. but if they pay taxes and are not on medicare then yes, why not. The ones who take jobs away from americans by working for less than minumum wage, surf medicare and not paying taxes, should be sent home immediatly. If than were to happen, there should be almost 0% unemployment in america. They should send their kids back with them. Why should we be stuck taking care of them. Plus orphan children don't have the best life advantages.

NO! Criminals should not be rewarded. Should a bank robber be allowed to keep the money if his wife becomes pregnant?
