2001 Sebring w/Alarm.Key does not work,when doors are unlocked with remote.Could it be a chip in key itself?

Are you saying that you can't start your car? Are you having trouble getting the key to even turn when you put it in the ignition? If your ignition is on the column, sometimes it helps to jiggle the wheel back and forth a few times. If nothing else, it may be the chip in the key.

That is possible. My 99 Ford has a chip in the key and a spare will not start it. Look at the key, if there is a little cover piece on it, there is probably a chip in it. It could also be your alarm malfunctioning. The remote start went out on mine and the car would not start.
