Freddie Mercury: bar none. Freddie had life and vibrance onstage--truly Mercury was a showman as the vocal powerhouse for his band, Queen.
John Lennon abeit loved and adored by millions, had mental issues that sadly went untreated--and were further aggravated by his co-dependent dysfunctional relationship w/ his wife, Yoko.
And just as he began to emerge from his comatose post-Beatle sleep.....he fell to a gunman's crazed rampage.
Now we mourn the loss of two showmen of different worlds--in any case......THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!

You know, I think people really overrate John Lennon.
Don't get me wrong, he was a legend in the most successful band ever, but he wasn't an exceptional singer like Paul was, nor was he an exceptional musician.
He was ignorant say that he was greater than Jesus and all, and he just had to go and marrythat Yoko lady and break up the Beatles.
They're both legends, but I have to go with fredie

Freddie Mercury without a doubt. He was a better artist and more compelling a performer. Plus he didn't think he was this mega-awesome, full-of-himself, superstar. He believed that his fans made him great, not himself. He was the BEST!!!
