They think that because he's conservative for over there he must be a good guy (they don't look past the term conservative).. that's for some... others (moderates) are glad because he's pretty pro-America.. the simple fact is in the US Skarkozy would be a true Independent and would be labeled liberal because he believe the US shouldn't be in Iraq. Sadly I think most people couldn't tell you half of the views of our own president.. let alone one from another country.. so they just go with the flow.

where to begin...neo conservatives are NOT a world wide mindset. it's an American label referring to the America first types who formed up during the presidency of bush 1. one could, at it's most simple, define them as far right conservatives. they include cheney, wolfowitz, pearl, rumsfeld and numerous others.
in addition conservatives are not the same throughout the world. Sarkozy would be considered a moderate if he ran for office in the U.S.
