I was a 21 year old, just coming out of the Army the last time the Lions had a great team. I am now pushing 74 and they have not done a damn thing in the interim. Am I the most pathetic fan or what!!!!

I have been in the same boat for a very long time (although not that long...but long enough to know your pain). You arent pathetic...it is currently the Ford family and Millen that should be deemed pathetic. There are other teams that arent so good but even the Texans have won more games in their 5 years of existance than the Lions have won in the 6 year Millen rein. An expansion team with more wins in 5 years than an established team in 6? That is the definition of pathetic! Sorry to say things wont be getting better soon...the Ford family understand business and know it is bad business to build a winner as long as they remain profitable....winning in the NFL is expensive! They have no desire to pay top dollar to quality athletes, why should they...the stands are full every game! Besides Millen wouldnt know talent if it hit him in the head. In his first 5 years of drafting he has drafted exactly 2 players that have made a Pro Bowl appearance (Roy Williams and Shaun Rogers...both of whom by the way were alternates). No other team has as few starters on their rosters from the last 5 drafts as the Lions. If you want to experience a winner before your time on earth is done I would strongly suggest adopting a new team....it may be another 50 years before they get it right again. I would give better odds of you living 50 more years than them turning things around soon ( so would Vegas)!

The Texans are worse than the Lions. The Raiders probably will still be as well.

The Lions are bad, but they may have a turnaround year soon, similar to the Tigers' run last year.

Yes, they are a pretty bad team. They have had good coaches, they just can't seem to make good use of their talent. Oh well, we have the Red Wings and the Tigers!

No, you are a dedicated fan. But, the raiders and Cardinals both suck if it makes you feel better. Oh yeah, so do the Jets!!! (but that's a personal opinion)
